Measuring guide
A good fit starts
with the opening.
Use a steel tape and measure each window to the nearest 1/8 inch.
Choose your mount.
Inside mount sits inside the window recess. Measure that opening.
Outside mount attaches to the wall or trim. Ask our team about dimensions.
Check recess depth, handles and mounting clearance before ordering.
Inside mount
Measure the opening as-is.
Picture the opening
One opening.
Six readings.
Measure the full recess, from inside edge to inside edge — across all the glass panels.
Take three widths and three heights. Enter the smallest of each, with no deductions.
01 / Width
Across the opening.
Three times.
Measure from inside edge to inside edge at the top, middle and bottom. Keep all three readings in your notes.
Enter the smallest width. Do not subtract anything.
See a width example
| Top | 36 1/8″ |
|---|---|
| Middle | 36″ |
| Bottom | 36 1/8″ |
Width to enter: 36″
02 / Height
Top to sill.
Left, centre, right.
Measure the opening height in three places: at the left, centre and right. Keep the tape straight and record each reading.
Enter the smallest height. Novo will make the allowance.
See a height example
| Left | 60″ |
|---|---|
| Centre | 59 7/8″ |
| Right | 60″ |
Height to enter: 59 7/8″
03 / Precision
Every eighth matters.
Read to the nearest 1/8 inch. You can type a fraction such as 35 7/8 or its decimal equivalent, 35.875, into the configurator.
Outside mount
A different way to cover the window.
Confirm where the blind will attach and check trim, handles and other obstructions. Contact our team to confirm the dimensions to enter for your outside-mount order.
The inside-mount instructions above apply only to blinds fitted within a window recess.
